They tell you to “contact the BBB”

Ask whether they mean AUTO LINE or a general business complaint.

What to do, in order

  1. Confirm the exact program and get the current GM program summary and rules. A standard BBB business complaint is not the AUTO LINE claim process.
  2. Check eligibility, requested remedy, exclusions, filing deadlines and whether your state requires a particular procedure. If represented, consult your lawyer first.
  3. Prepare the truthful chronology, orders, warranty booklet, notices and requested outcome. Submit through the official AUTO LINE portal if this is your chosen route.
  4. Keep proof of submission. Follow case-specific instructions and deadlines; do not assume GM’s referral means the claim will be accepted.

What you can say

“Are you referring me to BBB AUTO LINE? Please provide the applicable program summary and clarify whether GM is making any eligibility determination.”

What to watch for

Do not hide accidents, injuries, modifications or prior settlements. Referral is not approval or a guaranteed buyback.

Your next step

Review the arbitration checklist in Your options.

These steps are suggested consumer practices. Follow case-specific instructions, state requirements and your attorney’s advice when they apply.
